Y'all, this girl is a champion among brides. From dealing with half of Boston (including a lot of the roads and parking garages around your venue) being shut down on your wedding day, to the rain that chose to fall, Kristen handled everything with such grace. In fact, she probably handled it all better than I would have if I'd been in her shoes...

During the week, Daniela, the coordinator at the Hampshire House, stayed in touch providing the most up-to-date information and suggestions on the best ways to work around the street and parking garage closures. Wedding day arrived and even though the forecast had been for sunny skies and mid-70s, it's New England, and a forecast is never guaranteed. The rain started falling around 1pm. (We were scheduled to do pretty much all the photos, including the first look and family photos, outside.)

When I got to Kristen's room at the Wyndham, the rain was falling even harder. And Kristen, was more calm than I ever would have imagined. After a bit of texting and making phone calls, we confirmed our alternate photo plans and were set to shift everything indoors.

Kevin went to the Hampshire House to wait for Kristen and the first look. When he got there, the rain had stopped, so my assistant quickly ushered him over to the Public Gardens and got him set up for the first look. Kristen and I arrived and still no rain!

We spent some time in the Public Gardens walking around for some couple photos, and just as time for family photos came around, I got a call from Kristen's mom asking if they should come over to the gardens as originally planned, since it wasn't raining. They did, and we were able to do all of the family photos and start walking back towards the Hampshire House before the next bit of rain fell. It was almost to the minute that we got back inside that the rain started again. Sometimes things just have a way of working themselves out...

Kristen & Kevin had such a beautiful day! And the smiles... Oh my! Seeing couples this happy on their wedding day always makes my heart smile. It's couples like this you know are going to go the distance.

And, be careful when you tell your photographer that you're fine with "whatever" when you want a photo with "Make Way For Ducklings"... These two were cracking me up with their "duck faces". :)
