Michelle & Matt - MARRIED

Michelle & Matt were married last December at the Sturbridge Host Hotel in Sturbridge, MA. ( Yeah, I'm only a little behind in my blogging...)

I met Michelle and Matt a year before their wedding and knew right away that I wanted to shoot their wedding. During the engagement session in Boston earlier in the year we discovered lots of things in common. Especially our podcast listening. I just love finding other NPR nerds.

Michelle & Matt opted for a first look and the hotel atrium was the absolutely perfect spot. The skylights, bridge and all the flowers and trees made for a beautiful backdrop.

I really can't say enough about how brave their wedding party was. It was cold, but not just cold, it was SUPER WINDY!!!!

Also, if any of you need to know how to DIY some amazing details for your wedding, let me know and I'll put you in touch with Michelle... She worked SO hard on every little detail and it could not have turned out any better. This girl puts Pinterest to shame.

This was my first full-blown Jewish wedding, so I learned a lot! They had a ketubah ceremony with their immediate family and friends right before the traditional ceremony. And the reception, it was amazing. I want to shoot Jewish weddings every week now. :o)

The Hora was absolutely amazing. Seeing Michelle's face as they lifted her up in the chair and danced around was priceless. I've never seen such joy and fear all in one moment!

When time for the toasts came, three of Michelle's bridesmaids and three of Matt's groomsmen got up to share some memories and wishes for them. Michelle's girls were so sweet and had basically choreographed the speech, each taking turns and telling a complete story.

Matt's guys, on the other hand... They were mostly nice to Matt. ;) We did all find out that during college, one of his groomsmen had borrowed his computer, and while he had it, he came across Matt's journal. (You know this is going no where good, right?) Being the great friend that he was, he decided he should make a copy of the journal for himself. Apparently, he had forgotten he had done that until he was putting together his toast. He shared a lot of memories, and then shared some of Matt's poetry with all of us. (With friends like these, who needs enemies!?) It was all good-natured and ended up being a really fun twist on the traditional wedding speech. And, all kidding aside, it was obvious how good of friends Michelle and Matt really have. I've always heard the saying, "If you want me to tell you who you are, show me your friends," and I can honestly say, spending the day with these people really showed how wonderful Michelle & Matt truly are.

Michelle & Matt ended the night with a small gathering of their friends and family around a fire pit for smores. It was the perfect end to a perfect wedding.

I absolutely loved sharing the day with these guys! Congratulations Michelle & Matt! Thanks again for trusting me with your memories!
